"Party Line" is my short story that describes how a group of ladies in a Kentucky coal mining
town stay abreast of events. "The Zinnia Tales" includes this story and several other wonderful short stories by various
authors with ties to the Appalachians. This collection celebrates women of the Appalachian Mountains and may
be ordered from www.mountaingirlpress.com.
The 2008 follow-up to "The Zinnia Tales" is "Self-Rising Flowers". This collection of short
stories tells of Appalachian women who have overcome adversity. My story, "Momma's Shoes" tells of how a mother and daughter
who fall on desperate times rely on their strength, faith, resourcefulness and each other.
